Greg Power
PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Greg Power is entering his third year as the Percussion Director at Buchanan Education Center in Clovis, California. Prior to his current role, Greg taught percussion throughout Southern California at Arcadia HS, La Cañada HS, Los Alamitos HS, Thousand Oaks HS, Sierra Vista HS, and Chino Hills HS.
Greg received his Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance from Washington State University and his Master of Music in Percussion Performance from California State University, Northridge. As a performer, he marched in DCI with the Cascades and Blue Stars and in WGI with Pulse Percussion.
Greg has also served as an adjunct professor of percussion at California State University, Bakersfield, and Bakersfield College, as well as front ensemble coordinator at Golden Empire Drum & Bugle Corps.
An active WGI and DCI educator and designer for over a decade, Greg has worked with the Blue Stars, Blue Knights, and Bluecoats, including being a member of the Bluecoats percussion staff when the corps received the Fred Sanford Award for Best Percussion Performance.In WGI, Greg currently serves on quad and ensemble staff with RCC Indoor Percussion since 2023. He also currently designs for Buchanan High School and Audio Theater. Prior to RCC, Greg spent six years with POW percussion, serving in roles including battery technician, front ensemble coordinator, and ensemble coordinator.
Greg is excited to work with Red Wave Indoor, bringing many years of experience as an educator, designer, composer, and coordinator to the ensemble!
Taha Ahmed
BATTERY ARRANGER
Taha Ahmed received his Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology from the University of Texas at Austin. Currently, he resides in the Houston area where he is a Percussion director of Cy-Fair High School and is an active coordinator, instructor, consultant, arranger, designer, and private lesson teacher at numerous other high schools in the area.
Taha currently serves as the Percussion supervisor for The Blue Knights Drum & Bugle corps. Taha’s previous instructional experience includes: The Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps (2020- 2024), The Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps (2016 - 2019), and Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps (2015). Taha’s performing experience includes being a snare drummer at the Bluecoats 2012, Academy 2011, Santa Clara Vanguard 2010, and the Troopers in 2009 and 2008. During his drum corps career, Taha was privileged to learn from instructors such as Mike Jackson, Murray Gusseck, Ralph Hardimon, Glen Crosby, Roger Carter, Eric Shriver, MattRamey, Jim Ragsdale, Kevin Welborn, Rick Barclay, Derrick Fields, and Brian Stevens.
In the indoor scene, Taha has also experienced multiple seasons of success as an instructor. Taha is currently the Program Coordinator, Music Designer, and a Visual Designer for The Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble. He also worked with Monarch Independent Percussion (2015 -2026), where he served as the Battery and Ensemble Coordinator during that time, and Program Coordinator during the 2023 to 2026 seasons. He is also currently on staff at: Cy-FairHS (PSW), Clear Brook HS (PSW), and Bridgeland HS (PSW).

Albert Avery
FRONT ENSEMBLE ARRANGER / SOUND DESIGNER
Albert Avery is a designer, writer, and educator based in California’s Central Valley. With a background that bridges technology, music, and education, Albert strives to create meaningful artistic and community experiences through design, sound, and storytelling.
He holds a B.S. in Business Administration - Computer Information Systems from California State University, Fresno, where his interdisciplinary focus on technology and creativity shaped his approach to digital communication and the performing arts.
Albert currently works full-time at Universal Audio as a Technical Customer Support Specialist, combining his passion for music technology with his expertise in problem-solving and user experience. Outside of his professional role, he is deeply involved in community management and social media engagement, supporting creative and gaming communities with a focus on authenticity, connection, and growth.
In the marching arts, Albert serves as the percussion arranger and sound designer for Clovis High School, the front ensemble arranger for the Fresno State Bulldog Marching Band, and the front ensemble arranger and sound designer for Red Wave Indoor, Fresno State’s independent world percussion ensemble. He also works with multiple programs across the Central Valley as a consultant specializing in amplification, electronics, and sound design. In addition, Albert is a designer for Project Rise Music, contributing orchestration and sound design for ensembles across the country.
He continues to contribute to the growth of the Central Valley’s marching arts community through his design and educational work.

Akira Torrijos
VISUAL DESIGNER
Akira Torrijos has performed with the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps as well as Pulse percussion before teaching and writing for several groups in the Southern California area. He has been on the instructional staff for many world class organizations such as Carolina Crown, Bluecoats, POW Percussion, and Pulse Percussion having most recently just completed his 6th season on the Boston Crusaders visual staff.
Akira's visual designs have won numerous accolades including the 2023 SCPA Scholastic Open Class championship with Pacifica High School, the 2023 and 2024 SCPA A class championships with Mira Costa High School and Los Alamitos High School respectively, as well as the 2024 CSBC State Championships with Woodbridge High School. He currently is a designer for Kaizen Percussion, a group that was reclassified by WGI from Open Class to World class in their inaugural year. Akira is also the visual designer for Buchanan High School indoor drumline, who made WGI Scholastic World Class finals in their first at WGI Championships in Dayton, Ohio.
Akira resides in Southern California, where he continues to work as a designer and instructor for Pacifica High School and Woodbridge High School.
